The Revised Monk is modestly different from their 3E counterpart.

The new Monk is a high speed, high health combatant that specializes in Simple weapons. They have similar statistics to a Barbarian (hit die, BaB, skill points).

In exchange for higher base stats, the Revised Monk no longer receives many of their class-specific abilities. They can however take them as standard feats at the appropriate level. Monks also gain access to an improved version of Flurry of Blows which is compatible with Simple weapons.
